How historical factors like the Chicana/o Movement opened the way for new voices to represent a multicultural groups in the United States. While new notions of race, racism, and migration began to emerge as the new concepts of human history during this era.
Now, it will be exciting to think: What are the cultural influences that have shaped your life experience? Keep in mind that family values, the community (friends, neighbors, co-workers, school, music, language, education, etc.,) are important factors that influence the construction of our self-identification.
The goal of this exercise is to celebrate Your Cultural roots.
A culture is the way in which a society interprets and transforms reality, it is the social production of a society in one specific space and time. When we study historical culture, we investigate the social production of historical experience and its objective in a community’s life. Many of us we are constantly re-creating our culture through different influences that in a way are social agents that have shaped our own identities.
